Imuno Brasil was created to bring excellent care to patients with immune-mediated diseases. But what are these diseases?

Immune-mediated disease is the current used term for what we previously called autoimmune disease. Immune-mediated diseases is a group of conditions that result from abnormal activity of the immune cells, overreacting or attacking to the body, displaying an extreme inflammatory response.

Formed by reference professionals in the care of immune-mediated diseases, Imuno Brasil operates in the following specialties: rheumatology, neurology, gastroenterology, dermatology and immunology.

Rheumatology

Imuno Brasil deals with immune-mediated rheumatic diseases (DRIM), until recently known as autoimmune diseases.

They are triggered abnormal activity of the immune cells, overreacting or attacking to the body, displaying an extreme inflammatory response which arises as swelling, joint pain, and problems in various organs such as the eye, skin, lungs, kidney, brain, peripheral nerves, and so forth.

Neurology

Neurology is the medical specialty that deals with diseases that affect the nervous system. At Imuno Brasil, we treat immune-mediated inflammatory diseases of the nervous system, such as: Multiple Sclerosis, Optic Neuromyelitis, MOG antibody disease, Myasthenia gravis, Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, and Chronic Migraines.

Dermatology

At Imuno Brasil, dermatology deals with immune-mediated diseases and their manifestations in the skin, the largest organ of the human body, such as: psoriasis, chronic urticaria, hidradenitis suppurativa, among others.
These diseases have a high production of cytokines, causing severe inflammation. There is an important interface with the field of rheumatology, as some immune-mediated rheumatic diseases have cutaneous manifestations.

Gastroenterology

In gastroenterology, the medical team at Imuno Brasil is specialized in the treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease) that are characterized by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract.
